The Right Way to Test and Optimize Your Landing Page

Know who you are marketing to, or in other words know how to relate to your market if you want your landing page to convert and get the job done. We put together a little set of guidelines about landing page development designed for high conversions.

As with all your site pages, your landing page should never be a heavy file. It is an easy matter to test load times, so just be sure to do that and make revisions, if necessary. Your visitors shouldn’t have to wait more than 2-3 seconds to see the page on their screen. The usual culprit here is heavy graphics or too many of them. Everybody on the net is ultra impatient, and a slow loading landing page looks even worse because there is not much to them.

Your landing page should not have a lot of text on it, most if not all do not – so just be sure you space your text properly. Any paragraphs you have should be restricted to no more than about four or five sentences – max. Of course everything must be very clear, simple and easy to understand. Seriously, all of this is extremely easy to learn and do well, so do not make any excuses about it.

Everything else has to put the minds of your prospects at ease so it becomes an easy decision. Landing page guarantees are usually restricted to copy about the giveaway you want to give them in exchange for opting in.

So there is no need to worry about how to make a great landing page because they are simple and there is so much good information available. Bottom line with any offer is how much value the person reading it thinks they are going to get. Get in the habit of being an action taker, and your results will happen sooner.
